Anesthesia is administered to patients to numb a specific area or to make a patient unconscious while performing a procedure. The main types of anesthesia are local, regional, and general anesthetic. They are sometimes given in combination with one another, as well as in combination with oral or intravenous (IV) sedation.
1 - 2 days
Patients can travel immediately after local anesthetic. After a general anesthetic, patients can travel as soon as the effects have worn off and their condition is stable.

The All-on-4 dental implant treatment was designed by Nobel Biocare, and is used to replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth. The procedure creates a permanent prosthesis by using four dental implants that act as an anchor for a bridge or overdenture of 12-to-14 teeth.
The dentist performs or examines diagnostic tests (such as panoramic X-rays and a CT scan) to assess the patient's jaw bone density. These scans are then often followed up by computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (known as CAD/CAM) processes that plan the All-on-4 procedure and allow the dentist to precisely insert the dental implants into the jaw.

Advanced Smile Dentistry is located in a modern area of Tijuana named Zona Rio, which is full of restaurants, cafes and hotels.
I met with Roberto Vargas, who is their international patient coordinator that all patients talk to prior to booking treatment. He is great and will answer all your questions.
The main dentist, Dr. Julian De Anda, is super welcoming and has over ten years experience with American and Canadian patients. They even receive many patients from Alaska!

This is a fantastic dentist. I am scared of the dentist and put it off for ten years. I swear to you my root canal was totally painless I don't know how they did it. I went back the next day for 5 fillings on my right side, and I thought they only worked on 1 but they seriously completed the whole side, even a front tooth... I somehow didn't even know they fixed 4 more teeth... Not to mention there are no sharp edges on my fillings and the floss moves right between them, they fit my teeth just right which has never happened before. Impeccable service and the friendliest of staff. My only warning is not to go anywhere else as my root canal was for a failed filling from the US. my round trip flight was 160 dollars, the border is slow around 10 am and took 15 minutes both ways.

It was my first visit, and I am very happy with the service. I came here with my wife and she's very satisfied too. We are coming back. I strongly recommend this place if you need any dental work and you think San Diego is too expensive. Thanks to the Dr Thelma Toledo and to the team.

Traveling to Tijuana is safe, people are kind and going to Advanced Smiles Dentistry is a must if your looking for a high end dentistry office with a friendly staff. Is about a $4 cab ride from the border and I would highly recommend this place. I’m a blonde haired surfer from Calabasas which is the suburbs inland from Malibu. I don’t speak Spanish. The friendly staff all speak perfect English and every customer there are people from America. I have been there several times for work done and don’t generally give reviews this extensive but I want people to know that has been a wonderful experience for me. Painless, clean, state of the art equipment. Sitting in the chair you would think your in Beverly Hills or any other high end Dentistry office.

It was an excellent experience! Everyone was very nice and helpful. They really explained everything in detail. We will get all of our dental work done here from now on. I highly recommend them.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS FACILITY! I have had quality dental work in Tijuana before, but this was a nightmare. I went in to have both of my wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon cut open my gum on the wrong side (mind you my X-rays were on the screen in front of him). Then once I stopped him in fear of him drilling into the wrong tooth, he said, "I will explain after." Then proceeded to tell me there was a mix up that was communicated wrong by the dentist so he cut into the wrong gum. In addition I told him I was moving and he said he would put in the stitches that dissolved with no need to remove them. Turns out that was a lie. The stiches became infected and I had to have them cut out. And they still charged me full price and tried to make up by saying they didn't charge me the consultation! Please save your mouth and money and go elsewhere.
