Gastric band surgery is a weight-loss surgery which uses an inflatable silicone band to create a small gastric pouch in the stomach, slowing down food consumption and limiting food intake. The surgery is performed to help patients with weight-loss after non-surgical methods such as change of diet and regular exercise, have failed to produce results.
The doctor should ensure that the patients condition is stable enough to travel.
Gastric bypass surgery is performed to help patients to lose weight by reducing the size of the stomach. The surgery is performed to help patients with weight-loss after non-surgical methods such as change of diet and regular exercise, have failed to produce results.
Flying after surgery can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and patients will need to be cleared by the surgeon before flying.
Laser hair removal destroys hair at the follicle, using short bursts of light energy. For permanent results, usually several sessions are required with a break in between, however single sessions can be used for hair reduction. The amount of sessions and time the sessions take vary, depending on the targeted area.
It's safe to fly after laser hair removal treatment.
An arm lift, also referred to as a brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to firm and reshape the upper arms. The surgeon may use liposuction to remove excess fat and skin and reposition the remaining skin to tighten it.
The patient might have to stay until the sutures can be removed, and should ask the surgeon. It should be possible to fly home within 7 to 10 days.
In breast implant surgery, an implant is inserted in order to change the size and shape of the breast. The surgery is commonly performed for women who wish to have larger, more shapely breasts, women with underdeveloped breasts, or women who have had breast tissue removed (a mastectomy). Breast implants can also be used to correct breast asymmetry, or as part of male-to-female gender reassignment.
A breast lift procedure, also referred to as a mastopexy, is a surgical procedure used to lift and tighten sagging breasts (also called breast ptosis). The surgery is generally sought after by women have gone through pregnancy, have had breast implants removed, or have lost a lot of weight, which has resulted in the sagging of the breasts.
The surgeon will usually recommend waiting at least 7 days before travelling.

January 2018Pre-op communication seemed good at first then cracks started to appear. e.g. they told me that the anesthesia had to be paid separately but never mentioned that it needed to be paid IN CASH, then they afternoon before the procedure they said that the anesthesia and the lab work had to be paid in cash so I had to scramble to find a bank to get cash before I left the US.
The shuttle was very late picking me up at the SD airport so my pre-op procedures were late and most people had already gone home for the day. It never seemed like they knew where I was supposed to go or do next. Someone would do something and say they were done and just leave me in a room or in the lobby and I had to ask where to go or what to do next and they would call someone and find out.
I had a quick 2-3 minute consultation with the surgeon and he said roughly what he was going to do but there were no explanations of anything or discussions. I told him what I expected out of the procedure and I'm quite disappointed to say that I didn't get the results that I asked for and that he could have done.
As I'm lying in recovery a few hours after surgery, still very groggy from the anesthesia and with an IV in my arm, the nurse comes in and says I need to pay her for the compression garment and medicine. Seriously, why didn't they have me pay before surgery or after I was even awake? She said they couldn't so I struggle to stand up and find my wallet and fall over because of the pain and the anesthesia, and she runs my credit card and I sign the receipt while in a great deal of pain and in a daze.
Why do I have to pay for 5 separate things at all different times and days (and two of them in cash) for one procedure? And especially they shouldn't come ask me for payment while I'm in the recovery room! They should charge you once and distribute as needed.
They were suppose to have provided me with the lab results which I had to ask for 4 separate times before I finally received them. I sent photos as the doctor requested 2 weeks afterwards and he said I was still very swollen but didn't offer any solutions or prognosis. I've emailed twice since then asking for help but he doesn't respond.
Overall I'm disappointed. I could have dealt with the chaos and lack of communication if I would have received the results that I paid for but I didn't. He removed less than half the fat that I asked to be removed and I really don't look significantly better than before the surgery. More or less it was a waste of time, money, and pain. I'm disappointed.
CosMed Clinic's response:

Cosmed is part of the VIDA Wellness and Beauty clinic, which is beautiful! The exterior architecture is gorgeous and so is the interior design. It really is luxurious and must be quite an experience for international patients to have their plastic surgery in such a nice clinic. The plastic surgeons are really well known in California and were very friendly. The clinic even has its own boutique hotel, I was very impressed!
