Squirrel K has two dental clinics in Poland. One of the clinics is located near the old city of Gdańsk and the second is a short walk to the center of Gdynia.

The eleven dentists at the Squirrel K clinics specialize in pediatric and family dentistry. They particularly focus on general dentistry, endodontics, periodontology, dental surgery and prosthodontics. Patient comfort is paramount to the staff at Squirrel K. Pain management and relief methods which are employed by the dentists include The Wand™, a straw-like tool for applying practically pain-free local anesthesia, sedation with nitrous oxide or 'laughing' gas, and Dormicum, a "magic pill" for children which is one of the most effective sedatives on the market for those children who are terrified of the dentist's chair. The clinics are also equipped with top of the range technologies such as intraoral camera systems and digital radiography systems. Digital radiography systems are imaging technologies which allow doctors to make quick and precise diagnostics of oral diseases. The systems also make record keeping easier as they enable doctors and patients to observe the entire treatment history in one place.

The experienced team perform more than 24,000 procedures a year and have many years of experience treating patients from the United Kingdom, Norway and Russia.

In addition to comprehensive dental treatment, the clinic offers to arrange travel, accommodation, and car rental for its patients and are wheelchair-accessible.

Both clinics are a 30 minute drive from Lech Wałęsa Airport

Located in the Polish cities Gdansk and Gdynia, the two Squirrel K clinics are minutes away from the Baltic seaside.

Gdansk is a historical Polish city famed for staging anti-communist Solidarity strikes led by Lech Wałęsa in the 1980s. The public transportation system consists of an efficient network of buses, trams, trains, and ferries. The city is home to many interesting historical buildings including the Oliwa Archcathedral. There is also the Museum of the Second World War which documents individuals', societies' and nations' wartime experiences in Poland and other East-Central European countries.

Gdynia in comparison is a modern city, bordered by hills and a coastline frequented by many nature enthusiasts. Its landscape consists of a leisure pier and a dramatic cliff coastline at Kepa Redłowska, and a nature Reservation Park closeby.

Both cities are situated on the Baltic coast and are traditional Polish seaside resorts. All cultural sights, beaches and jogging areas are well connected by public transportation.

  • Braces are used to straighten and align teeth. They can help to correct many orthodontic problems, and prevent problems further down the line. The brace works by applying continuous but gentle pressure to the teeth, which causes the teeth to slowly move. In order for the teeth to move into the desired direction, the braces need to be adjusted regularly by the orthodontist.

  • 1 - 4 days

This time is required per trip. Patients need several trips to get the braces adjusted, unless an orthodontist at home can offer follow-up care.

More about available treatments at Squirrel K

The Squirrel K clinics offer consultations and treatments for aesthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontic treatments or root canal, dental surgery, orthodontics and prosthodontics.

Their dentists specialize in milk teeth procedures such as applying sealants, prosthesis, temporary and permanent fillings, extracting milk teeth and rebuilding milk teeth. Additional procedures for general dentistry include pediatric root canal treatment which involves the restoration of living tissue inside a tooth which has become infected.

The clinics use The Wand™ technology, which is a sophisticated tool for performing almost pain free local anesthesia. Also available are other forms of anesthesia, including nitrous oxide gas to aid relaxation, as well as dormicum which is a pill to combat anxiety in the dentist chair. To ensure that patients receive optimal benefits from their treatment, the clinics also employ technologies such as intraoral camera systems. These systems magnify the inner mouth by more than 40 times their actual size on a screen thus allowing dentists to see much more than they could with their naked eyes. Intraoral cameras also serve as an education tool as the patient is able to see exactly what the dentist sees on the screen.

The clinics employ a number of specialists covering a variety of dental fields, including endodontics also known as root canal treatment, aesthetics, and pediatric dentistry. The clinics also perform general dentistry procedures which includes a professional examination, diagnosis, treatment and oral health care including tooth extraction, fillings and polishing. Furthermore, Squirrel K also have a team of dental assistants who aim to make the patient experience as comfortable as possible. Many of the clinic's dentists are particularly adept at treating children's dental problems, making it one of the few specialist clinics in Poland for child dentistry.

The clinic was visited by a Medigo team member

I visited the Gdynia branch of the clinic, which is situated close to the city center. I found the clinic quite easily, the building is clearly marked with a large sign. Inside, the place is bright and colorful, in keeping with the focus here on kid’s dentistry. The clinic’s rooms are full of toys and there is a separate playroom on the ground floor. The staff were focused and patient, with lots of time for the parents and kids.
