A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure performed to change the shape of the skin located on each side of the vagina. In some cases the labia majora (the outer lips) of the vulva may also be trimmed, however, the surgery is more commonly performed on the labia minora (the inner lips).
After surgery, patients have an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). There are precautions available, and patients should ask the surgeon as it varies by case. In general, patients should be okay to fly after 7 days.
