Gastric band surgery is a weight-loss surgery which uses an inflatable silicone band to create a small gastric pouch in the stomach, slowing down food consumption and limiting food intake. The surgery is performed to help patients with weight-loss after non-surgical methods such as change of diet and regular exercise, have failed to produce results.
The doctor should ensure that the patients condition is stable enough to travel.
Gastric sleeve surgery, which may also be referred to as sleeve gastrectomy, is a type of weight-loss surgery in which a large part of the stomach is removed. As a result, the remaining stomach is only around 25% of the size, meaning patients must eat smaller portions, and must modify their diet.

A dental checkup enables a dentist to inspect the teeth and gums, and identify any problems before they get worse.
Patients may wish to stay longer if the checkup highlights problems, such as cavities that need fillings.
A crown can be used to save a damaged tooth by completely encircling it. In order to attach a crown, the tooth is reduced to a stump which the crown can be cemented onto. Many clinics specialize in natural looking, tooth-colored materials, and patients can choose from a range of materials to suit their budget.
The time required depends on how long is needed to create the crown or crowns in the laboratory. Clinics with an in-house lab are usually quicker.
A dental implant is a small screw-like device that is placed into the jawbone, to replace a natural tooth. The implant acts like a tooth's roots, and over time the dental implant becomes fused to the natural bone, making it stable.
The first trip usually takes a few days. The second trip may take longer, depending on how long it takes for the crown(s) or bridge to be created.

Hip replacement surgery is a common surgery for patients who are suffering with osteoarthritis, a condition that causes pain and swelling in the joints and reduces joint mobility.
After surgery on the lower limb, patients have an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis. Any travel plans must be discussed with the surgeon first.
A knee arthroscopy is a surgical procedure which involves inserting a camera into the knee to examine a damaged or decayed knee, and to diagnose a knee complaint. An arthroscopy can also be used to make minor repairs to the knee.
A knee replacement is a surgical procedure in which damaged surfaces in the knee joint, or else the whole knee joint, are replaced with metal and plastic components. There are 2 types of knee replacement surgeries: total knee replacement (TKR) and partial knee replacement (PKR).
After surgery, patients will have an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis, meaning any travel plans must be discussed with the surgeon first.
Abdominoplasty, also referred to as a "tummy tuck", is a surgical procedure performed to remove excess fat and skin that has lost its elasticity and to create a firmer and more defined abdomen. The procedure is most commonly performed on women who have excess skin from previous pregnancies, or on patients who have lost a lot of weight and want excess skin removed.
Many surgeons recommend waiting around 2 weeks before flying, and taking precautions against the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Patients will need approval from the surgeon before travelling.
An arm lift, also referred to as a brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to firm and reshape the upper arms. The surgeon may use liposuction to remove excess fat and skin and reposition the remaining skin to tighten it.
The patient might have to stay until the sutures can be removed, and should ask the surgeon. It should be possible to fly home within 7 to 10 days.
A body lift is a combination of surgical procedures designed to improve the overall appearance of the patient's body, by removing excess skin and tightening the remaining skin. A body lift also involves the removal of underlying excess fat and can treat cellulite.
The procedure is most commonly performed on patients who have undergone bariatric surgery to lose weight, or who have lost significant amounts of weight through diet and exercise, and are left with excess skin around the body.
Patients must check with their surgeon that they are fit enough to fly home, as well as taking necessary precautions against deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

The clinic was visited by a member of the MEDIGO Team
The clinic was difficult to reach as it is located around 30km outside of Abu Dhabi. You can get there by personal car, taxi or by bus, however it was difficult to get information about the bus schedule or timing. There is parking in front and at the back of the hospital. All of the equipment is new and modern, the feel is like in a European hospital. In the UAE, there is only one MRI room with mood changing light and Ahalia Hospital Mussafah have it. The staff members are very friendly and very nice.
